The rookies were treated to three days of team building and training to help them make an easy transition into the USSA family of national team athletes.</description>

The worldwide schedules were approved by the FIS Congress Friday at its meeting in Cape Town, South Africa.</description>

<description>PARK CITY, Utah (May 19) - Gary Black (Sun Valley, ID), who has dedicated 25 years of his life to the sport of ski racing, was awarded the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) Julius Blegen award. The Blegen award is presented annually to a USSA member who contributed outstanding service to the sports of skiing or snowboarding in the United States. It is the organization's highest volunteer award.</description>

The Center of Excellence, USSA's new training and office facility, which is scheduled for completion in March 2009, is a mass of steel and concrete in its current state. But, the building is being put together piece by piece every day thanks to hard work from the team at Jacobsen Construction who take great pride in being part of a project that will help American athletes in their pursuit of success. According to many on the site, their involvement with the center has made them feel like a part of the USSA team.</description>

<description>PARK CITY, Utah (May 16) - U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association President and CEO Bill Marolt set the tone for USSA Congress 2008 with his keynote address: "Looking Foward: Raising the Bar" as the annual meeting of the Olympic sports organization kicked off in Park City May 16. Marolt acknowledged the athletes, coaches, officials, parents and volunteers, recognizing them for their grassroots works at the more than 400 USSA clubs nationwide as one of the biggest reasons for the success of the organization, including record athletic results this past season. He also encouraged participants to be even stronger advocates for the sport in their communities, promoting the lifelong skill development, strong character values plus fun and excitement offered by USSA competition programs.
