BIOGRAPHY
Moguls skier Kayla Snyderman didn't realize there were such things as moguls competitions; she and her younger brother just liked to run bumps - until someone spotted them on a trail and pointed them toward formal instruction. A 2008 World Cup podium later and she's on her way to becoming a regular on the three tiered step.

UPDATE
Following a win and a third in the NorAms, as well as her sixth career World Cup top-10 finish, an injury sidelined Snyderman for the rest of the 2009 season. But hard work throughout the summer and following the doctor's orders has her set to be back on snow towards end of year with getting back in that World Cup top 10 on her mind.

FIRST TRACKS
Team Snyderman loved to ski as a family, and there was no thought about competing - until someone watched Kayla and brother Reed zipping down the fabled Goat Trail, one of Stowe's renowned Front Four. "She'd been skiing since she was 3,” Mom said, "but we didn't realize people competed in moguls.” She had started skiing at King Ridge (r.i.p.) in Mom's hometown (New London, NH) and had moved on to Mount Sunapee, not far away, and then Stowe, VT. Snyderman skied with the Stowe Freestyle Team for a year, met Coach Nick Preston during competitions and moved on to his program at Waterville Valley after the 2004 season. In 2007, she picked off the silver medal in moguls at Junior Worlds in Switzerland.

FIRST WORLD CUP
Jan. 11, 2007 at Deer Valley Resort in Utah (12th in moguls)
